About us
We are the Swagemakers family and we have been living on the Brabantse Wal for almost 30 years, a strip of dune between the province of Zeeland and Brabant that stretches from Antwerp to Willemstad. Our house is located 16 meters higher than the polder that we overlook. We enjoy the most beautiful sunsets almost every evening. We would like to share this with our guests. Our house is located in a beautiful area near the city of Bergen op Zoom, there is something to do every weekend. If you come by train, we will be happy to pick you up from Bergen op Zoom station and bring you back on departure. That is all part of our service.
Halsteren
Halsteren is a village with 15,000 inhabitants that belongs to the municipality of Bergen op Zoom. The central large market of Bergen op Zoom, with its many historic buildings, can be reached by bike within 15 minutes. Halsteren is located on the border of Zeeland, sandwiched between the major port cities of Rotterdam and Antwerp. Both worth a visit, which only requires a half hour drive. Renesse, Ouddorp and Vlissingen, with their beautiful beaches, are an hour's drive away. Breda and Zierikzee are both half a drive away. Within 30 minutes you are in Yerseke, eating the famous mussels and oysters.
Beautiful cycling routes through the Brabant forests or along the Zeeland coast start from our B&B. On the Brabantse Wal alone, there are 20 cycling routes that lead past the best asparagus fields in the region in the Netherlands. The best asparagus in the Netherlands is grown here and they grow right up to our front garden. If necessary, we can visit the asparagus fields and give an explanation about this “white gold”.
For guests traveling by train, we have a free pick-up and return service from the station in Bergen op Zoom. Bicycles can be rented from us at a rate of 10 euros per day.

B&B Op de Brabantse Wal has 2 double rooms, each with its own bathroom with toilet. For a fee of 125 euros you can enjoy our B&B for a whole day. We charge an additional 25 euros cleaning costs per visit. Of course we provide a delicious fresh breakfast.
Shared Living room
Our guests have their own living room that may be shared by the other guest (s). This room has a sitting area, dining area, television and a small kitchen with refrigerator. This B&B living room has its own front door to the private parking, which is closed at night.
Facilities
Our guests can use a private parking, fitness room, sauna (for a small fee) and a fantastic large terrace. From this terrace there is an unobstructed view of Halsteren and the island of Tholen and a beautiful sunset can be enjoyed every evening. You can also enjoy our beautiful butterfly garden.
